The Helping Hands for Seniors Program matches eligible Lake Co. seniors (60+) who reside independently in the community with vetted volunteers who will assist them with daily activities that are essential for their health and safety.

Are You OK is a safety assurance program for Lake Co. seniors (60+) who may be isolated or living alone. Seniors can enroll in the program to receive daily automated monitoring calls designed to provide security and ease the concerns that friends and families may have for their loved ones’ safety.

The Senior Digital Inclusion Program helps Lake Co. seniors (60+) by enhancing digital connectivity. Services include free electronic devices to those that qualify and referrals to services that support learning and connectivity. Completion of a scam prevention workshop and a one-on-one tech appointment at Mentor Public Library is required for device participants. Applicants must meet financial and residency requirements.

Lifeline, in partnership with the Lake County Probate Court, offers support and education to volunteer guardians.  The Volunteer Guardian Program (VGP) works with volunteers who address the individual health and safety needs of Lake County’s most vulnerable populations.  Volunteers are offered opportunities to network, receive ongoing training and personalized support while working on behalf of the elderly, developmentally disabled and those struggling with mental illness.  Volunteer guardians play a vital role in the health and safety of community members who need the support of a caring person who is able to advocate for their needs. The focus of the new Kinship Navigator Program is to help grandparents and other kin raising children not their own. It will focus on breaking the cycle of poverty by offering educational, social and emotional support by working in conjunction with community partners. The Kinship Navigator Program will provide caregivers personalized information and referrals to County wide programs to address their current and future needs.
